Calhoun Falls is a small South Carolina town of 2,000 people on the Georgia border along the Savannah River. Highway 81 provides the main north-south route, while Highway 72 runs east-west, connecting to I-85 about 25 miles away near Anderson. Most visitors arrive via this interstate link from Greenville or Atlanta. The town sits where the historic Savannah River falls are now controlled by the J. Strom Thurmond Dam.
