Caldwell is a small county seat in southeastern Ohio's hill country, about 90 miles east of Columbus via I-70 and State Route 821. The town sits where Ohio's flat farmland gives way to Appalachian foothills, connected by SR-821 running north-south and SR-78 going east-west toward Marietta. The 1898 courthouse with its prominent clock tower has been keeping time for the community for over 125 years.
