Byron is a small farming town in Wyoming's Big Horn Basin, about 20 miles east of Cody via Highway 14. The route from Cody takes 25 minutes through open rangeland, while eastbound travelers descend through scenic Shell Canyon from the Bighorn Mountains. The town sits at 3,900 feet among irrigated fields of sugar beets and barley. Byron houses the Holly Sugar Corporation's factory, which has processed regional sugar beets since 1918.
