Butte Falls is a tiny timber town of 364 people nestled in the Cascade foothills about 45 miles northeast of Medford via Highway 62. The mountain community sits at 2,400 feet elevation with snowy winters and dry summers. Most visitors come up from the Rogue Valley on day trips to explore the surrounding national forest. The town gets its name from a 15-foot waterfall on Butte Creek that flows right through downtown.
