Butler is a small Wisconsin city of about 1,900 people located 20 miles northwest of Milwaukee in Waukesha County. Highway 164 provides the main north-south route through town, connecting to Interstate 94 for longer trips, while Highway 16 runs east-west just south of the city. Most visitors arrive via I-94 from Milwaukee or Madison, though daily traffic consists mainly of local commuters heading to nearby Waukesha and Brookfield. Despite being a full municipality, Butler covers just 1.9 square miles, making it one of Wisconsin's geographically smallest cities.
