Burnsville is a small town of 861 people in northeastern Mississippi's Tishomingo County, reached via Highway 25 from Iuka (15 miles north) or Corinth (25 miles southeast). The town sits in rolling Appalachian foothills with a humid subtropical climate. Most long-distance visitors come through Highway 72 from Alabama, then north on Highway 25, while locals commute to nearby Iuka or Corinth. The community preserves a restored 1890s one-room schoolhouse that now serves as a local history museum.
