Burnettown is a small city along the Savannah River, directly across from Augusta, Georgia. Highway 25 connects it to Augusta via the river bridge, while I-20 runs 15 miles north for longer trips to Columbia or Atlanta. The rolling terrain and pine forests are classic South Carolina Midlands. Augusta Regional Airport is about 12 miles away, and local roads like Burnettown Road handle daily commutes to Augusta's medical and business districts. The town takes its name from Burnet Mayson, whose family ran a colonial-era ferry crossing here.
