Bullard is a small East Texas city of about 4,300 people, located 15 miles south of Tyler via US Highway 69. The town sits in Smith County's rolling Piney Woods, where visitors arrive from Dallas on I-20 to US 69 (about 90 minutes) or from Houston via US 59 north. State Highway 344 runs east-west through town, connecting to farm roads that wind through horse ranches and pine forests. The town hosts the annual Old Fiddlers Reunion at what's billed as East Texas's largest outdoor rodeo arena.
