Buffalo is a small farming town in central Illinois, about 20 miles southeast of Springfield via Route 124. Take I-72 to the Route 124 exit, then head north through corn and soybean fields. The drive from Springfield takes 30 minutes on straight country roads. The town of 482 people sits in typical Midwest prairie country and houses a preserved one-room schoolhouse that operated until 1967.
