Buckley is a mountain foothill town about 40 miles southeast of Seattle, connected mainly by State Route 410. This scenic highway runs through downtown and links west to Tacoma via Sumner, or east toward Mount Rainier National Park. The town of 5,400 sits in a forested valley with the Cascades as a backdrop, experiencing typical Pacific Northwest weather with more snow than lower areas. Downtown features the converted 1920s Rainier School building with its original brick facade.
