Buchanan is a small Michigan city just off I-94, about 15 miles from South Bend, Indiana. Exit 16 connects directly to downtown via Red Bud Trail, putting it on the main Chicago-Detroit corridor. The St. Joseph River flows nearby, and South Bend International Airport is 20 miles southeast. The restored Buchanan Common downtown occupies the site where the old railroad depot once stood.
