Brownton is a small farming town of 546 people in south-central Minnesota, about 60 miles southwest of Minneapolis. Highway 15 runs north-south through town, connecting to Hutchinson 12 miles north, while County Road 1 provides the main east-west route to Glencoe. The town's historic grain elevator, a towering concrete landmark visible for miles, has been guiding travelers since the 1950s.
