Browns Valley sits at Minnesota's western edge where three states meet, occupying the unique continental divide where waters split toward Hudson Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Highway 28 provides the main access, connecting to Interstate 29 about 30 miles west. Most visitors arrive from the Twin Cities (200 miles southeast) or Fargo (90 miles north via Highway 75). You can stand at the exact spot where the Laurentian Continental Divide crosses into Minnesota, one of the few places where water flows to two different oceans.
