Browns is a small Edwards County community along the Wabash River in southeastern Illinois. Reach it via Illinois Route 1, with I-64 access 15 miles north at Albion. Most traffic comes from Mount Carmel to the south or connects to Evansville, Indiana, 45 minutes away. The village features one of the region's last active grain elevators, a concrete tower that dominates the flat river valley landscape.
