Brooksville sits in central Florida's hill country about 50 miles north of Tampa, serving as Hernando County's seat. Most visitors take I-75 to Exit 301 (SR-50) and head west 10 miles into town. State Road 50 runs east-west through the city, while US-41 provides the main north-south route through downtown. The area's rolling terrain and higher elevation create a different feel from typical flat Florida, with several EV charging stations along the main corridors. The city's most distinctive landmark is a 20-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty that has stood in Tom Varn Park since 1976.
