Brookeville is a tiny Montgomery County community about 20 miles northwest of DC, reached via Georgia Avenue north or I-270 to local roads. This rural area of 161 residents sits in rolling Piedmont countryside near Montgomery County Airpark. The town famously served as the US capital for one day in 1814 when President Madison took refuge here during the War of 1812.
