Broadway is a small Lee County town of about 1,650 people, sitting where the Sandhills meet farmland about 60 miles southwest of Raleigh. US 421 runs right through the center, connecting north to Sanford and the Triangle area or south toward Fayetteville. Most visitors arrive via US 1 from Raleigh, then take 421 southwest for the final 20 miles. The town hosts the annual Livermush Festival, celebrating the distinctive regional pork and cornmeal delicacy.
