Brigantine is a barrier island beach town just north of Atlantic City, reached via Route 87 from Garden State Parkway Exit 40. The drive takes 90 minutes from Philadelphia or 15 minutes from Atlantic City across the causeway. This 8-mile-long island community of 7,600 offers ocean beaches and back bay fishing. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center operates here, rescuing whales and dolphins since 1978.
