Briarcliff is a lakeside community on Lake Travis, about 20 miles west of Austin via Highway 71 and Ranch Road 620. This Hill Country spot draws visitors for boating and lake activities, with winding roads that follow the shoreline. The town sits on limestone bluffs overlooking the Colorado River reservoir. The historic Briarcliff Marina still has covered boat slips from the 1960s when lake levels were much higher.
