Brewster sits where the Okanogan and Columbia rivers meet in north-central Washington's agricultural heartland. Highway 97 runs right through town, connecting north to Canada and south toward Wenatchee, while State Route 17 heads east to Grand Coulee Dam. Most visitors arrive via Highway 2 from Seattle (four hours) or Spokane (three hours). The town's claim to fame is its prime location at the river confluence, where the historic Columbia River Bridge carries traffic between Washington state and the Colville Indian Reservation.
