Brewster is a small farming town in northwest Kansas, accessible via US Highway 24 about 30 miles east of Goodland. Most visitors arrive on US 24, the main east-west route through Thomas County, or via State Highway 27 from Colby to the south. The town sits in wheat country at about 3,200 feet elevation, experiencing hot summers and snowy winters typical of the High Plains. One of the few original grain elevators still operating along this highway stretch towers over the community.
