Brant Lake is a tiny Lake County community of 63 people about 15 miles northwest of Madison via Highway 34. From Sioux Falls, take I-90 west to the Madison exit, then Highway 19 north through town to Highway 34 west. The town sits on prairie farmland beside its namesake lake, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. A preserved one-room schoolhouse from the 1960s remains as a piece of local history.
