Branson is a tiny farming community in southeastern Colorado's Las Animas County, accessible via US Highway 160 and US 385 from Lamar. The area sits on Colorado's eastern prairie at about 4,200 feet elevation, experiencing hot summers and snowy winters typical of the high plains. You can still spot remnants of the historic Santa Fe Trail that once crossed these same grasslands.
