Brainard is a small farming town in Butler County, about 40 miles northwest of Lincoln via Highway 92. With just over 300 residents, it sits among rolling cornfields and pastures in Nebraska's agricultural heartland. Most visitors arrive on Highway 92 from Lincoln or use Highway 15 from the north-south corridor. The town's historic grain elevator from 1917 still towers over Main Street as one of Butler County's oldest continuously operating facilities.
