Boyne City is a lakefront town of 3,800 on Lake Charlevoix in northern Michigan's resort region. US-131 runs north-south through the area, connecting to Grand Rapids and Petoskey, while M-75 cuts east-west through downtown. It's about four hours from Detroit and five from Chicago, making it a popular weekend destination for boaters and skiers heading to nearby Boyne Mountain.
