Boydton is a tiny county seat in south-central Virginia, home to fewer than 300 people but serving as the government center for Mecklenburg County. Located on Kerr Lake's shores about 30 miles south of I-85, it's reached via US Route 58 and draws visitors mainly for fishing and boating on the massive 50,000-acre reservoir.
