Bowlegs is a tiny Oklahoma town of 331 people in Seminole County, about an hour southeast of Oklahoma City via Highway 56. Most visitors arrive through Shawnee on Interstate 40, then take local roads south through oil and farming country. The town got its name from a Creek Indian leader, and the old stone schoolhouse still stands as a community center.
