Bowie is a small Texas city about 70 miles northwest of Fort Worth along US Highway 287. As Montague County's seat, it connects rural north Texas communities to the Dallas-Fort Worth area via the main highway corridor. The 1913 red sandstone courthouse with its prominent clock tower anchors the downtown square.
