Bowdle is a small farming town in north-central South Dakota, about 80 miles northwest of Aberdeen. Highway 12 runs right through town, connecting it east to Aberdeen and west toward Lemmon. It's classic Great Plains country with wheat fields stretching in every direction. The massive grain elevators dominating the skyline can be spotted from miles away across the flat prairie.
