Boswell is a small town of 690 people in southeastern Oklahoma's Choctaw County, about 15 miles from Hugo. US Highway 271 runs north-south through town, connecting to Interstate 35 near Hugo for trips to Dallas or Oklahoma City. State Highway 2 provides east-west county access. The area features rolling timber country typical of southeastern Oklahoma's humid subtropical climate. Boswell hosts an annual Watermelon Festival celebrating the sweet melons grown in surrounding fields.
