Borger sits in the Texas Panhandle along Highway 207, about 40 miles northeast of Amarillo. Most visitors take I-40 to Exit 89 at Panhandle, then follow Highway 207 north. The town serves as Hutchinson County seat in oil and agriculture country. The Phillips Petroleum Company Museum downtown occupies a restored 1920s service station, telling the story of Frank Phillips and the company that built this boom town.
