Bonifay is a small county seat in northwest Florida's hill country, about 100 miles from Tallahassee. State Road 79 runs north-south through town, connecting to Crestview and I-10 to the south. US Highway 90 provides the main east-west route to DeFuniak Springs and Marianna. The rolling terrain here contrasts with typical Florida flatlands. Bonifay hosts the Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo, running continuously since 1965 as one of the Southeast's oldest rodeos.
