Bonham sits about 70 miles northeast of Dallas along Interstate 35, serving as Fannin County's seat. Most visitors take I-35 from Dallas or Sherman, while US Highway 82 connects east-west and Highway 121 provides access to northern Dallas suburbs. The rolling Blackland Prairie surrounds the city, and it's positioned between two popular fishing lakes. The town preserves the home of Sam Rayburn, the longest-serving House Speaker in US history.
