Bonesteel is a small farming town in south-central South Dakota, accessible via US Highway 18 and US 83. The drive from Sioux Falls takes about three hours through Mitchell and down US 83. From Rapid City, head east on I-90 to Presho, then south on US 83 to Highway 18. The town sits in rolling prairie country near the Nebraska border, serving the surrounding agricultural area. Bonesteel hosts an annual Harvest Festival each September with a Main Street parade celebrating the corn and soybean harvest.
