Bonanza is a tiny mountain town of 20 people perched at 9,600 feet in Colorado's San Luis Valley. Reach it via US 160 to Highway 112, about 250 miles from Denver through some of the state's most remote high country. The harsh winters and extreme elevation make this one of America's highest incorporated communities. The post office operates from a small log cabin that serves as the town's main landmark.
