Bolivar is a college town in southwestern Missouri's Ozark foothills, about 30 miles north of Springfield via Highway 13. The city serves as Polk County's seat and home to Southwest Baptist University. Highway 32 runs east-west through town, connecting to Stockton Lake and Lebanon, while Highway 13 links north to Warsaw and the Lake of the Ozarks region. The university's red-brick campus hosts the popular annual Bolivar Sausage Festival each October.
