Bogue is a tiny farming town in north-central Kansas, accessible via US Highway 283 which runs north-south through the area. Most visitors pass through on longer trips between Interstate 70 and Nebraska, though the route also serves local agricultural traffic. The surrounding High Plains landscape features rolling wheat fields and wide-open skies. The town is known for its historic limestone post rock fence along the highway, built from locally quarried Fencepost limestone that early settlers used when timber was scarce.
