Bogata is a small East Texas town of about 800 people located 20 miles southwest of Paris via US Highway 271. The town sits in Red River County's rolling pine country, serving as a quiet stop between larger regional cities. Most long-distance travelers use Highway 271 to connect with Interstate 30 near Mount Pleasant for routes to Dallas. The annual Old Settlers Reunion, running since 1898, is one of Texas's oldest continuous community festivals.
