Bode is a small farming town in north-central Iowa, reached via Highway 169 through Humboldt. The main route from Des Moines takes Highway 18 west to 169 north, about 90 miles total. Most traffic consists of local farm equipment and residents commuting to Humboldt or Fort Dodge. The town's towering grain elevator serves as a prairie landmark visible for miles.
