Bock is a tiny farming community in central Minnesota's Mille Lacs County with under 50 residents. Take Highway 27 west from Milaca (8 miles) or drive 90 miles north from the Twin Cities via I-35 to Highway 27. The settlement sits among rolling farmland and woodlots between dairy operations and crop fields. German settlers named it "Bock" after the word for billy goat, saying the hilly terrain reminded them of goat pastures back home.
