Blue Mound is a small city of 2,366 people in northern Tarrant County, about 15 miles northwest of Fort Worth via Interstate 35W. State Highway 199 runs east-west through town, connecting to Fort Worth and Weatherford. The city sits near three airports including NAS Fort Worth JRB. Popular routes include quick trips south to Fort Worth and longer drives north toward Denton. City council meetings are held in a converted house that doubles as city hall.
