Blue Mound is a small farming town of 882 people in central Illinois, about 20 miles southeast of Decatur on Route 121. Most visitors arrive via I-72 from Springfield or Champaign, then take local roads south through corn and soybean country. The town's grain elevator towers over the prairie landscape and can be spotted from miles away.
