Bloomingdale is a small city of 522 people in southwestern Michigan's Van Buren County, accessible via Exit 85 off Interstate 94. The community sits in Michigan's fruit belt along the Kalamazoo River, about 15 miles from Kalamazoo and 25 miles from Lake Michigan. State Route 40 connects it to nearby Paw Paw and other regional towns. The city features one of Michigan's few remaining covered bridges from the 1920s.
