Blawnox is a small river town 12 miles northeast of Pittsburgh along scenic Route 28. The borough sits between the Allegheny River and rolling hills, accessible via Route 28 from the city or the Pennsylvania Turnpike from the east. Most traffic consists of Pittsburgh commuters, though the winding river road can get congested during rush hours. The entire municipal government operates from a converted house that doubles as borough hall and police station.
