Blades is a small rural town in Sussex County, about 15 miles northwest of Georgetown via Route 404. Most visitors arrive from US Route 13, turning west on 404 for the final stretch through Delaware farmland. The Delaware Coastal Airport sits just southeast of town, and the community of roughly 1,000 people is named after a historic grain mill that operated along the local creek.
