Blackwell is a tiny farming town in west Texas wheat country, home to about 200 people. You'll reach it via FM 1086, which connects to US 84 near Roscoe—from there it's 45 miles to Abilene or 85 miles to Lubbock. Most visitors are passing through on agricultural business or heading to nearby wind farms. The town's grain elevator towers over the flat prairie and can be spotted from miles away.
