Blackwater is a tiny farming community in central Missouri with just over 200 people, sitting along Highway 41 about 15 miles south of I-70. Most visitors arrive via the interstate corridor between St. Louis and Kansas City, then take Highway 41 south through Cooper County's rolling farmland. The town maintains its historic connection to the Missouri River, where early settlers once operated ferry crossings before modern bridges replaced them.
