Blackburn is a farming community of 240 people in Saline County, about an hour southeast of Kansas City via I-70 and Highway 65. The town sits in Missouri's agricultural heartland, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Most visitors pass through on Highway 65 or come from nearby Marshall, 15 miles northeast. Freight trains still run through town on the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad line several times each day.
