Bismarck is a small farming community of about 1,500 people in southeastern Missouri, roughly an hour south of St. Louis via Highway 67 and Highway 8. Most visitors arrive on Highway 8, the main east-west route through town, while locals use County Road 144 for quick trips to nearby Farmington. The town was named after German chancellor Otto von Bismarck by German immigrants who settled here in the 1800s.
