Bingen is a small Columbia River town in Washington, just across the Hood River Bridge from Oregon. State Route 14 runs right through town, connecting to White Salmon and the broader Columbia River Gorge scenic route. Most visitors arrive via the Hood River crossing or while driving the Washington side of the gorge between Portland and eastern areas. The town features a working 1908 railroad swing bridge that still pivots for river traffic.
